I believe there was one more that made it 4 times and did not place.  There was a kid from FW Snider I believe a few years ago that was in danger of this but ended up placing 4th.  Papiernik maybe?  Please correct me if I am wrong, which is a definite possibility.

Is there anyone else that has made it to state 4 times and not placed??

Yes there was but I can't recall who.  It was discussed after Miller fell into that same spot.

According to Echoes of the Elder, there is only one person who qualified 4 times but never placed.  That person is Craig Alstott, Floyd Central, 83-86.  The elder's book only goes up through 2002, though.  I remember Miller, too.

I believe Steve Hall....North newton class of 95 went into semistate at least 2 time spotless and was a national team member and had many impressive wins against top placers with a very impressive career record with help from matburns BUT could never win the Big Match...great kid...was big in the iswa and sombo level...correct me if i am wrong been a while..

I would have to say Jason Colson of Scottsburg.  He was a late bloomer but his senior year was 40-0 lost in the semi-finals of Regionals to VanAlstyne of Center Grove by dec then in semi-state beat Zach Pierson, Perry Meridian in first round and lost in the round to go to Tom Aigner, Heritage Hills on a last second reversal.  So finished senior year with 2 losses and one was to the eventual state champ and other was to 7th place finisher.
